There is little in the NFL Draft world quite like the hyperbole that accompanies how you have to talk about a prospect.
You can no longer say that a player is good, has the tools to be a top 15 player in the draft, or that the sky is the limit for a players future.
No, now it has to be about building a player up with generational talent.
Last season: Myles Jack is a faster Ray Lewis.
This season: Jon Allen is a quicker Ndamukong Suh, or even Friday, he is the next J.J. Watt.
The draft, to get your voice heard and known, now requires you to be over the top in order to discuss prospects, something that, well we have built our brand on making fun of.
Not that we dislike Allen, both Seth and I believe he is a top 10-15 prospect without a question, but do people remember Suh at Nebraska? He may have been the most dominant defensive force in the last decade.
Anyway, here is today’s open thread, let us know about prospects you want us to talk about, and we will begin to single them out on the podcast for you.
Enjoy today’s games.
