The Arizona Cardinals freed up some salary cap space then made a plethora of moves on Tuesday.
Source: the cap-tight Cardinals converted $2M of G Mike Iupati's salary into a signing bonus, creating $1.5M in 2016 cap room.

The Cardinals elevated Zac Dysert and Brittan Golden from the practice squad, while also signing Kerwynn Williams back to a contract.
In corresponding moves, they placed both Chris Johnson and Tyvon Branch on the injured reserve list. One of the players could possibly return in eight weeks, but the Cardinals do not have to declare which player at this time.
Also, the Cardinals have waived Drew Butler after coming to an injury settlement with the veteran punter.
The Johnson and Branch moves to the injured reserve are tough, but not unexpected, as both players have battled injuries over their careers, especially recently.
Butler was obviously being negotiated with from the onset of his injury, plus the Cardinals needed to rework some money with Mike Iupati in order to create the cap space needed.
Good luck to the new players and hopefully one of Johnson or Branch will be ready for the stretch playoff run.
In one additional move, the Arizona Cardinals signed Christian Bryant to the practice squad. If my math is correct, they have one open spot on the practice squad, but they’ll likely leave that for Dysert to move back down this weekend or next.
