The Arizona Cardinals have a problem, and that problem is simply Tyrann Mathieu is unlikely to play in this Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers.
The reason it is a problem is not just because the Arizona Cardinals defense seems to follow their emotional leader in how they play, but it is because the player who would be coming in for him, Tharold Simon, is also on day two of a did not participate on the injury report.
The rest of the report looks the same as yesterday, outside of Carson Palmer moving from a scheduled day off to participating in full on Thursday.
It will be interesting to watch the effectiveness of Larry Fitzgerald and John Brown, as we know the Arizona Cardinals passing attack needs to have another good week.
For the San Francisco 49ers, they get rookie cornerback Rashad Robinson from DNP to limited, which could be a nice pick me up for a team that has struggled this season. However, their Pro Bowl safety Eric Reid was put on the injury report for the first time with a knee issue and was limited today.
The biggest missing piece for the 49ers though may be Aaron Lynch, who was a DNP again for the second day.
