The NFL week started off well enough, as the Baltimore Ravens beat up the lowly Cleveland Browns to maintain first place in the AFC North.
What about the rest of the matchups this morning and afternoon?
Let’s get to it.
Houston Texans at Jacksonville Jaguars (-2)
The Texans looked like a good team to start the season, but now, they just look like a team trying to find their way with a new quarterback who hasn’t figured it out. Brock Osweiler vs Blake Bortles seemed like a good matchup to start the year, now the question is which one makes less mistakes and gives their team a shot to win the game?
Jags 31
Texans 28
Denver Broncos (+3) at New Orleans Saints
If the Saints played a lick of defense, I would be all over this line, but they don’t and the Broncos have shown and ability to play with teams in high scoring games, even if it is not what they want to do.
Broncos 28
Saints 27
Los Angeles Rams at New York Jets (-1.5)
The Jets should be able to handle an abysmal Rams offense… Should.
Jets 24
Rams 17
Atlanta Falcons at Philadelphia Eagles (-2)
The shine has come off Carson Wentz a little bit, but the Falcons, I just don’t trust them right now. I think they are a very good team with flaws. I think the Eagles and Jim Schwartz can do enough to stop the top offense in the NFL, unfortunately for the Arizona Cardinals fans.
Eagles 27
Falcons 24
Kansas City Chiefs at Carolina Panthers (-3)
I am rooting hard for the Chiefs, but I think the Panthers got back on track with their win over the Arizona Cardinals. The Chiefs are also beat up coming into this game.
Panthers 21
Chiefs 17
Chicago Bears (-2.5) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Bears 24
Bucs 21
Green Bay Packers (-3) at Tennessee Titans
I want to buy into the Titans, but I just can’t with their defense against Aaron Rodgers, no matter what Rodgers has looked like.
Packers 28
Titans 21
Minnesota Vikings at Washington Redskins (-2.5)
What a huge game for the NFC playoff race. The Vikings look like a shell of the team that looked like the best in the NFC, while the Redskins just keep finding ways to win and stay in the playoff hunt.
Redskins 23
Vikings 20
Miami Dolphins at San Diego Chargers (-4)
Chargers 28
Dolphins 23
San Francisco 49ers at Arizona Cardinals(-14)
Cardinals 35
49ers 17
Dallas Cowboys at Pittsburgh Steelers (-2.5)
Steelers 24
Cowboys 21
Seattle Seahawks (+7.5) at New England Patriots
Patriots 24
Seahawks 17
