It was a tad bit closer than I wanted, but the Cardinals pulled it out with a solid final drive. So, who shined in this game?
WINNERS-
The Regulars- I've begun grouping David Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald. I could almost write both these guys into the winners column before the game even begins and just add in their stats after!
David Johnson continues to be the focal point of this offense. DJ had 24 touches, 101 yards and 2 TDS. Fitz had 12 catches for 133 yards. The Truth.
Michael Floyd- Wait, is this right? Week 10, and Floyd makes his way onto the winner's side for me. 5 catches, over 100 yards, including a crucial fourth quarter catch that i am so glad wasn't able to be overturned. Could this be the start of something? I really hope so.
Carson Palmer- He started awfully inconsistent. But tie game, 2 minute drill, and Palmer came up clutch again. The way he eluded pressure, navigated the pocket, and marched us downfield was a thing of beauty. Bravo.
Chandler Jones- He seemed to be in the backfield all day, and he racked up two more sacks to bring his season total to seven.
LOSERS-
Returners- Three kickoff returns. Thirty yards. That's a 10 yard average and not one made it past the twenty. Punt returns weren't any better: 3 returns, 9 yards. It's a part of the game that has the possibility to change the game and its disappointing to see our team fail to muster anything, week in, week out.
JJ Nelson- After being a larger part of the offense in recent weeks, JJ lost a fumble and saw Floyd and John Brown both push him back down the line on snaps and targets. While an electric playmaker, he needs to earn more playing time in a crowded offense.
Andre Ellington- Just two carries to David's 19, and he failed to even muster one yard. Just like Nelson, Ellington could be electric, but he's failing to leave a mark in this contract season.
What are your thoughts on the week 10 win?
