The Arizona Cardinals have made a move that, I honestly did not know was even possible, as they have brought back punter Drew Butler and released punter Ryan Quigley.
Butler is of course the Arizona Cardinals veteran punter who was hurt earlier in the season and was then waived with an injury settlement back on October 4th.
Butler was having another average year, but he is trusted heavily by Bruce Arians and Amos Jones, so unfortunately for Ryan Quigley, whether or not he was doing a good job, seems irrelevant to the fact that Arians and Jones prefer and trust Butler.
Quigley had punted 24 times for the Cardinals, and his 40.8 yards per punt average was near the bottom of the NFL, yet it was his net average of 35.7 yards per punt that really took its toll on the team and the defense. He also had a punt blocked against the Seahawks, as many I am sure remember.
Drew Butler’s 33.7 net average is the only one that was worse than Quigley’s.
