There is no beating around the bush, this season has been a massive disappointment for the Arizona Cardinals.
One of the reasons it has been such a disappointment is the lack of impact from the 2016 draft class.
What was needed to be a strength, the defensive line and the secondary, has been pretty good, despite literally nothing from their first and third round picks.
Now, though is the time to respond if you are Steve Keim.
With their loss in Minnesota, the Arizona Cardinals shot back up the draft chart and now sit with the 12th pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.
This will surely change, but through eleven weeks of the season, the Arizona Cardinals will draft higher than any of the previous years Bruce Arians coached the team.
Now though, they have to figure out if that pick will make a year one impact or if they still have enough faith in enough players to let them sit and learn for a year.
Here is the top 20 in the 2017 NFL Draft as of right now:
Who has been picked at 12 over the last decade?
2016: Sheldon Rankins, DL New Orleans Saints
2015: Danny Shelton, DL Cleveland Browns
2014: Odell Beckham Jr., WR New York Giants
2013: D.J. Hayden, CB Oakland Raiders
2012: Fletcher Cox, DL Philadelphia Eagles
What a five year run of 12th overall picks. Rankins has looked good, Shelton is becoming a good player, Beckham is maybe the best WR in the NFL and Fletcher Cox is one of the best defensive players in the NFL. D.J. Hayden is the lone “bad pick” and Sheldon Richardson was taken with the next pick.
2011: Christian Ponder, QB Minnesota Vikings
2010: Ryan Mathews, RB San Diego Chargers
2009: Knowshon Moreno, RB Denver Broncos
2008: Ryan Clady, OT Denver Broncos
2007: Marshawn Lynch, RB Buffalo Bills
Maybe the Arizona Cardinals could get a running back to not use... I kid, I kid.
Lynch is obviously great, Moreno had a couple of good years and Mathews has been to a Pro Bowl and broke 1,000 yards two times.
There has been plenty of talent at the 12th pick, now the Arizona Cardinals have to find it.
