It has not been what the Arizona Cardinals had expected this season offensively. While their bulk numbers look good, their play has left much to be desired.
Add in that they have probably the worst special teams unit in the NFL and things just are… bad.
Yet, at 4-5-1, with six games to go, there is life in this season.
While they likely need to win all six games to guarantee themselves a playoff spot, it could be a season where nine wins gets you in.
Nine wins though, means only one more loss on the season and you don't want that loss to happen early.
Which is why this game against the Atlanta Falcons means so much.
The Falcons defense is average at best, but they have a talented group of pass rushers. Add that in with D.J. Humphries starting at left tackle and someone named Ulrick John starting at right tackle.
It is what is needed in Arizona now, as the fan base has seemingly given up hope of that Super Bowl run that was so expected coming into the year.
Maybe with low expectations, the Cardinals can find their groove again and get back on track.
Check out the latest Rise Up, See Red podcast as we discussed what happened in Minnesota, why there is still life in this season as well as what to expect for the Atlanta game. Maybe the fact no one believes will be the rallying cry this team needs. Here's hoping.
