It's not over… but it's over, here are the winners and losers from the Arizona Cardinals blowout loss to the Atlanta Falcons.
Winners
David Johnson: Maybe the most dominant all around player in the NFL, despite what seems like an effort to not use the running game in the second half of games when Arizona is down. He continues to make plays though, in the passing game, being the second best wide receiver.
Carson Palmer: People may raise their eyebrow at this, especially people that know my criticism of Palmer, but he's playing as well as can be expected. He's not a player that is going carry your offense to victory, especially an offense that is struggling to block in pass pro, with poor receivers. Anyway, good work Palmer.
Draft Position?
Losers
Arizona Cardinals fans: A hope that this was the season, that this was the year blinded too many flaws that were obvious.
We'll talk about that more in depth later, but the reality was everyone bought into a team that sold us they were a contender when they were actually a fringe playoff team. Hopefully the rebuild is swift, much like the first one of the Keim/Arians era.
Patrick Peterson: He played well against Julio Jones, but his pass interference penalties and his getting completely turned around by Taylor Gabriel on his first quick screen touchdown will be the lasting images of this game for P2.
This Season: Bleh...
