The Arizona Cardinals took a chance on Logan Thomas in the 2014 draft, taking the big quarterback out of Virginia Tech in the fourth round of the draft.
While there were other players and quarterbacks on the board, it was the tantalizing size and unique skillset that made Head Coach Bruce Arians buy in to the idea that he could correct the problems that plagued Thomas as a quarterback in college.
Well, after one season the Arizona Cardinals cut bait, and a host of other teams brought in and gave Thomas a chance to play quarterback.
No idea what #Lions will get out of new TE Logan Thomas. People have tried to get him to switch positions for years. Signed at VTech as a TE

Those opportunities have ended, as Logan Thomas, the 6-6 260lbs specimen is moving back to tight end after signing on the Detroit Lions practice squad., that he played in high school and was recruited to Virginia Tech to play.
It is a unique move, but one that has worked out for a player like Terrelle Pryor, who made the switch from quarterback to wide receiver.
Thomas will spend time on the Detroit on the practice squad getting ready for the next step in his career. Good luck to him and may he finally find success.
