The Arizona Cardinals opened practice after their bye week with some… interesting non-participants in practice yesterday as in the open part of practice there was no Larry Fitzgerald, Tyrann Mathieu, Darren Fells, Alex Okafor or Tharold Simon.
Open portion: Did not see Larry Fitzgerald, Tyrann Mathieu, Darren Fells, Alex Okafor & Tharold Simon. Injury report comes out tomorrow.— Mike Jurecki (@mikejurecki) November 8, 2016
A couple of those names, Fells and Mathieu, are not overly surprising, it is a bit concerning about Fitz, but he is such a gamer, there likely will not be a problem.
Then today, Wednesday, happened.

While the official injury report is not out until after practice, it appeared to everyone at the open part of practice that Carson Palmer was getting a veterans day off… again.
We have talked ad nauseam about Palmer’s arm and whether it is declining, but the reality seems to be that they are trying to preserve his bullet’s, so to speak, for live game situations. Unless something happened yesterday that we did not hear about, I just cannot figure out another reason to keep him out of practice, especially after they just had an elongated break.
It is not serious, but it is interesting to see the care they are taking with Palmer this year, something that did not happen much last year.
