The Arizona Cardinals are mostly healthy coming off their bye week, which is an important thing as they get ready to head into the home stretch of what is basically a win or go home tournament, without the go home part.
The Cardinals need their key players healthy, maybe not as much for this week, but for the coming weeks of Minnesota and Atlanta. Even more over though, they need to get into a rhythm, which needs to happen this week against the San Francisco 49ers.
That is why as much as the injury report for today is not awful, it is important to get these guys back and healthy, ready to roll.
For the Arizona Cardinals, they need Tyrann Mathieu healthy more than maybe anyone not named Carson Palmer. He is the heart and soul of their defense, and as he goes, the team really seems to go as well.
Tharold Simon being injured and a DNP is difficult as well, as he is a key piece if Mathieu is going to miss time.
John Brown and Larry Fitzgerald hurting could be good. If you want to continue to believe in Michael Floyd, this could be an opening, against a soft San Francisco defense, that allows him to get started on his yearly 3-5 game run.
Darren Fells and Alex Okafor being close to back is important as well. Okafor has been a nice addition in the Cardinals speed packages and Fells is the most consistent blocking/catching tight end combination on the roster.
For the 49ers, outside of Aaron Lynch being a did not participate, the biggest name is obviously Carlos Hyde being limited with his shoulder. Torrey Smith being limited is an issue as well for a team lacking in skill player talent.
