The 2016 season is over.
Not officially, but with the Arizona Cardinals loss to the New Orleans Saints today the Arizona Cardinals are officially eliminated from playoff contention for 2016.
Don't worry, we will not be going anywhere and there will be plenty of time for all of us to second guess Bruce Arians, Steve Keim and everything else we will do to get over the shock that was the 2016 Arizona Cardinals season.
Yet, for the first time in the Steve Keim and Bruce Arians era, the Arizona Cardinals will have nothing to play for in week 16 or week 17.
On top of that, the Arizona Cardinals cannot finish with a .500 or better record, so for the first time as a head coach (interim or otherwise) Bruce Arians will suffer a losing season.
It was not what 2016 was supposed to be about for the Arizona Cardinals.
In fact, 2016 was supposed to be the year, the breakthrough, yet something was lost on that journey and now here we sit, 5-8-1, out of the playoffs and trying to figure... What the hell happened.
