The Arizona Cardinals have one of the most dynamic players in the NFL in David Johnson. Few would argue this, many would be willing to say that Johnson is in fact, the best all around player in the NFL right now.
Yet, when it comes to players under the age of 25, to Mel Kiper, Johnson is not even one of the five best in the NFL.
Normally, a player being ranked sixth on the list of best of anything in the NFL doesn't sound too bad, yet in this instance, it sounds like a huge slight to what David Johnson has done in his short NFL career.
From Kiper:
While the criticism of Johnson is fair, he hasn't been great in pass protection, the reality is he's rarely used in that manner.
For reference the five players under 25 Kiper has in from of Johnson:
Odell Beckham Jr.
Ezekiel Elliott
Leonard Williams
Dak Prescott
Le’Veon Bell
That's a phenomenally talented group of players and I honestly mean no disrespect, but how many of those players would you take over Johnson right now?
It is an interesting question to think about as we discuss this further.
Another Arizona Cardinals found themselves on the list.
Despite his limited time this season, Tyrann Mathieu is still widely regarded in the NFL.
From Kiper:
Mathieu comes in at 17th on the list overall.
Two Arizona Cardinals players in the top 25 under 25 should be exciting, but it feels like David Johnson is still being overlooked.
