While a pass rusher has been the talk of the offseason so far for the Arizona Cardinals, the team will have a bunch of turnover on the offensive line. It is very possible they lose three starters from the line in free agency. They ideally have Jonathan Cooper and D.J. Humphries ready to step in at right guard and right tackle, but that doesn't mean the Cardinals will not be looking at offensive linemen in the 2016 NFL Draft.
Since NFL draft analyst Mike Mayock has ranked his top five players at each position, let's see who the best linemen are the Cardinals could acquire.
1. Laremy Tunsil, Ole Miss
2. Ronnie Stanley, Notre Dame
3. Jack Conklin, Michigan State
4. Taylor Decker, Ohio State
5. Willie Beavers, Western Michigan
1. Cody Whitehair, Kansas State
2. Vadal Alexander, LSU
3. Joshua Garnett, Stanford
4. Christian Westerman, Arizona State
5. Graham Glasgow, Michigan
1. Ryan Kelly, Alabama
2. Nick Martin, Notre Dame
3. Max Tuerk, USC
4. Evan Boehm, Missouri
5. Jack Allen, Michigan State
If I had to guess, the Cardinals will not look at tackles, especially at the top of the draft. That means we can pay more attention to the interior guys.
Whitehair is a guy who has already been mocked to the Cardinals a couple of times in the first round. He is very versatile, perhaps even able to play center. right guard and right tackle are definitely in play. I have seen Garnett's name come up.
The centers, though, offer some good options. Nick Martin is a name you might see elevate into the first round. His brother is already a great lineman in the NFL and his versatility at guard and center is intriguing. In a perfect world, the Cardinals could land him or Alabama's Kelly in the second round, although some on this site are very excited about Tuerk, and he probably could be had in the third round -- at least in current projections.
Are there any favorites you have in these players, and what round would you like the Cardinals to draft them?
