Chris Johnson to visit Dolphins, could have new contract this week from someone

Arizona could lose another free agent.

The Arizona Cardinals could be close to losing another free agent. Veteran running back Chris Johnson, who rushed for more than 800 yards before going down with a tibia fracture, is visiting the Miami Dolphins on Wednesday, according to Adam Schefter.

Johnson has indicated he would like to return to the Cardinals and the Cardinals want him back, but there has been no word on any sort of contract offer.

According to a source speaking to Pro Football Talk, Johnson's 2016 future could be coming soon, He could sign with a team as early as this week.

Johnson rushed for 841 yards in 11 games and averaged more than 4.2 yards per carry. He landed on injured reserve with a tibia fracture, but was designated for return. Had the Cardinals made it to the Super Bowl, he would have been activated. He was practicing and was on track to play.

He joined Arizona in training camp last season and was very productive. After a Week 1 injury to Andre Ellington Johnson carried the load and was very productive.

What is uncertain are his contract demands and hopes for playing time. If he were to return to the Cardinals, he would be the backup to second-year running back David Johnson and he would likely not be paid a bunch of money.
