Andre Smith chooses Minnesota Vikings over Arizona Cardinals

The veteran signs a one-year deal.

A veteran offensive lineman signed a one-year free agent contract...and it wasn't with the Arizona Cardinals. Veteran tackle Andre Smith is joining the Minnesota Vikings on a one-year deal, picking them over the Arizona Cardinals.

Smith visited Minnesota earlier in the week and reportedly said he was going to pick between the Vikings and the Arizona Cardinals and was supposedly coming to visit Arizona, but has now made his choice.

No Arizona reports linked Smith to the Cardinals, but Arizona has been looking at offensive linemen. They have reportedly looked at Amini Silatolu, Smith, Geoff Schwartz and they signed Evan Mathis to a one-year contract. They also tried to bring back Bobby Massie, who left the team in free agency for the Chicago Bears.

Arizona is perhaps set on their starting lineup on the offensive line. Jared Veldheer and Mike Iupati will return as the starters on the left side. Mathis takes over right guard, while A.Q. Shipley is expected to start at center for now and last year's first round pick, D.J. Humphries is set to start at right tackle. However, there is still a lot of offseason and things could change.
