With veteran linebacker Karlos Dansby hitting the open market following his release from the Cleveland Browns, Arizona Cardinals fans wonder if he might consider returning to Arizona for a third stint. He was drafted originally by Arizona and played his first seven seasons with the Cardinals. Then he returned for a season in 2013 before landing a big contract from the Cleveland Browns.
He isn't rulinig out the possibility and it sounds like he would like to come back, based on what he said to Bertrand Berry on Arizona Sports 98.7 FM.
"The third time could be the charm, you know, I can't say it couldn't be," Dansby said.
He spoke of the opportunity to play for Bruce Arians again, who is like a father figure to him. He said it would be hard to say know if he asked him to come back.
As of right now, though, it appears the Cardinals don't have interest. Local reporter and radio host Mike Jurecki tweeted on Monday the team had not yet reached out to Dansby and a rival, the Seattle Seahawks, could be interested in the 34-year old veteran.
Dansby has been very productive in his career and very durable. He has missed only 12 games in 12 seasons. He has had 80 tackles or more in 11 of 12 NFL seasons, at least 90 nine times and over 100 six times. He has had multiple sacks in nine of 12 seasons and at least one interception nine times.
