2016 NFL free agency: Jerraud Powers to visit New York Giants, other teams

He finally is getting some interest.

It appears there is finally a market for free agent cornerback Jerraud Powers. After weeks of absolutely no news about him, Powers reportedly has some team visits set up. According to Ian Rapoport, he is set to visit the New York Giants on Thursday, with other teams to follow.

Powers spent the last three seasons with the Arizona Cardinals.

He started 40 games in three seasons and had five interceptions (three in 2014), two forced fumbles and two sacks.

He was reportedly looking for a multi-year deal for decent money, but nothing crazy, as he said, but after Janoris Jenkins and Prince Amukamara signed, the cornerback market dried up quickly.

He is 28 years old and has seven years in the NFL. With the exception of 2014, when he was the third corner for Arizona when he was behind Patrick Peterson and Antonio Cromartie, he has been a starter in the league.
