Well, the Arizona Cardinals have struck out on all the pass rushers they were reportedly interested in. After seeing Jason Pierre Paul and Tamba Hali return to their teams, Mario Williams sign with the Dolphins and Bruce Irvin decide to go to the Raiders, now it is William Hayes.
Hayes is returning to the Rams, according to Ian Rapoport. It is reportedly a three-year deal.
He started 11 of 16 games last season and had 5.5 sacks. He will be the full-time starter now that the team has released Chris Long.
The Rams have already lost three starters from the defensive secondary. They did not want to also lose a defensive line starter.
Of course, now the Cardinals are seemingly left with little options to improve their pass rush. Olivier Vernon is available and no longer carries the transition tag.
Should they go that route or wait to see if anyone else gets cut later?
