It is time for tackle D.J. Humphries to step up. Drafted to take over at right tackle for Bobby Massie after his eventual departure in free agency, Massie is not headed out of town. Massie is joining the Chicago Bears, per Bleacher Report's Jason Cole.
Massie gets a three-year deal worth $18 million and he will play right tackle in Chicago. moving Kyle Long over to right guard. Long was drafted as a guard and played there his first two years in the league. He moved to right tackle last season, but moves back over for Massie to take over.
The expected loss of Massie means Humphries is the starter. Earl Watford will likely compete with him for the job and the Cardinals very well could add another lineman to the mix in free agency.
Massie gets paid and the Cardinals get to see their first round pick from last year step in. It hopefully is a win-win for all.
