2016 NFL mock draft: NFL Draft Breakdown podcast mocks Carson Wentz No. 1, Robert Nkemdiche to Arizona Cardinals

New, comment

Listen to the podcast mock draft.

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

Well, Seth Cox and Justin Higdon got together for another NFL Draft Breakdown podcast. With the trade by the Los Angeles Rams to move up to the number one pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, there was a lot to talk about.

This show was about the trade and they mocked the first round.

They had North Dakota State QB Carson Wentz going first overall to the Rams and Jared Goff doesn't get taken until the 49ers grab him. So they see the NFC West with two rookie starters.

Justin makes a surprise pick to the Giants -- making Notre Dame WR Will Fuller the first receiver off the board.

But what about the Arizona Cardinals? Seth ponders a couple of players, but goes with defensive lineman Robert Nkemdiche from Ole Miss.

The Cardinals interviewed Nkemdiche three times.

Seth said he is a top five talent, but is just weird, which is why he has fallen so far. Justin wonders "if he really loves football," but doesn't deny "he loves to make splash plays." So if the Cardinals use him right, "he could be a home run pick."

Seth considered receiver Laquon Treadwell, a guy who could potentially replace Larry Fitzgerald's position. The Cardinals sent their receivers coach to watch him at his Pro Day. There is interest.

Listen and find out how their whole first round plays out. Seth and I will do our own mock draft on the Revenge of the Birds Radio podcasts the week leading up to the NFL Draft.
