We are really close to the real thing. The 2016 NFL Draft is next week. So we have some mock drafts still left to tolerate. NFL.com's Bucky Brooks has a new mock, and it features a new name for the Arizona Cardinals, who could go a number of ways in the first round.
In his latest, he has Arizona going with a raw, but speedy defensive back -- Miami cornerback Artie Burns.
The feisty cover corner would fill an immediate need as a potential starter/nickel corner in the lineup.
Arizona is seeking length and speed in the secondary. At 6-0 and with track star speed and athleticism (4.46 40, 31.5-inch vertical leap, he was an All-American hurdler), he checks off those boxes.
Another requirement for Cardinals corners is having ball skills. He picked off six passes and broke up five others in 2015, all while part of a CB rotation. He is also versatile, able to play both outside and inside.
He is considered raw and he isn't very strong (only seven bench press reps at 225 pounds), but he is an intriguing option is that is the direction the Cardinals want to go.
