Safety Rashad Johnson and cornerback Jerraud Powers were both called "defensive MVPs" by head coach Bruce Arians in 2014. Now, in the offseason following the 2015 season, neither one of them is part of the team's plans, as both free agents have not been given any contract offer.
Johnson landed with the Tennessee Titans, and we had heard about the lack of an offer.
Powers still has not signed anywhere.
He recently started up a Twitter account and, to his knowledge, the team has not offered anything.
Not to my knowledge https://t.co/sMYoMltWSt

His defensive backs teammates would like him back and Powers later called for an offer, saying he is willing to work with the team.
U front office bro, throw me a contract offer, I'll work with you lol https://t.co/nsYKyGbGgX

He did recently visit with the New York Giants. He left without a deal. According to Powers, he is making sure the situation is perfect and there is no rush. It sounds like he still could land there.
Arizona wants to get faster and longer in the secondary. They also already paid Justin Bethel and believe he can be the starter at cornerback opposite Patrick Peterson. While he struggled some late in the year after Tyrann Mathieu got hurt and he was forced into more action, the fact the team has not signed another corner tells you they still believe in him.
