The Arizona Cardinals held their first practice of organized team activities (OTAs) on Tuesday. After practice when head coach Bruce Arians addressed the media, he said something that has become somewhat of an OTA tradition.
"It's light years from the last couple of years," coach Bruce Arians said via ESPN. "Guys just jumped out there and I think we had one false start there at the end. I would imagine the assignment sheet's very small and rightfully so."
Guess what? In 2014, Arians said the exact same thing, only they were light years ahead of where they were when they first started working under Arians. In 2015, entering Year 3 of the Arians offense, once again they were light years ahead.
So it should be no surprise they are are further ahead.
Even with the comical repeating of the same thing again, it isn't as if Arians was lying. They have improved every season. They won 10 games and missed the postseason in Year 1. They won 11 games and made it to the playoffs in Year 2. In Year 3, they went 13-3 and lost in the NFC Champhionship Game.
After a good start, hopefully it leads to another step up -- making it to the Super Bowl and perhaps winning it all.
