The Cardinals officially know they will not be playing Tom Brady in Week One of the 2016 season. After Brady and his lawyers appealed the Suspension that stems from the 2014 "Deflategate" Incident, the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals found that Roger Goodell acted within his authority in his four game suspension of Tom Brady.
With that the Cardinals will likely only have to Gameplan for Jimmy Garoppolo come Week One now. Calais Campbell made an appearance on CBS Sports Radio's 'Tiki and Tierney'. Campbell made clear that he is looking forward to facing Garoppolo:
Licking my chops. You get a rookie quarterback, pretty much. You know it's always exciting when you get a guy like that for his first game because he's going to be nervous. He's probably going to be sitting there holding the ball a little longer or trying to get rid of it quick, throwing bad balls. As a vet, we definitely pride ourselves on welcoming rookies the right way.
Obviously Garoppolo is not a rookie. Garoppolo was drafted in the 2nd round by the New England Patriots. He's been in the league since 2014, and has been in 11 games since then. He has not started a game, obviously, but in those 11 games he's gone 20 for 31, 188 yards and one touchdown. He has the whole Training Camp to get on the same page with his receivers, but luckily for him, he has a guy in Gronk to lean on heavily.
With the Cardinals improved pass rush, and a solid secondary the Cardinals should have this one well in hand, but in the NFL, nothing is set in stone.
