Mike Jenkins Has Surgery, Should be Back in 2-3 Weeks

The veteran cornerback has a timetable for a return to the Arizona Cardinals.

The Arizona Cardinals have a timetable for the return of newly signed veteran defensive back Mike Jenkins, as Bruce Arians announced in his pre-practice meeting with the media that Jenkins will have surgery on his hand break today.

The surgery will put him two to three weeks out before he can return to playing with a cast on.

The continued absence of Justin Bethel after a setback in his rehab from off season foot surgery as well as Jenkins return timetable means that the Arizona Cardinals young defensive backs could get two full games as the only corners on the roster (outside of Patrick Peterson).

Brandon Williams and Cariel Brooks have both been viewed as strong players thus far in camp, and with the pending return of Tyrann Mathieu and Justin Bethel, Jenkins could have an uphill battle to make the roster after his return from the injury list.

It is just another unfortunate injury for Jenkins in what has been a career full of injuries that have forced him to playing only play 16 games in two of his eight career seasons.
