Despite the loss and poor quarterback play that marred the defeat to the San Diego Chargers, there were still some key performances worth mentioning from this Cardinals game.
The Cardinals starting offense played for only around half of the first quarter, with Drew Stanton and Barkley taking over the rest of the fairly ugly game.
Although it seemed like the whole team struggled at times, there was some positive play from a few individuals.
Jaron Brown
In my opinion, there was only one Cardinal (in the limited action) who truly stood out tonight. Jaron Brown has been a very important player to the Cardinals this preseason with all of the injuries to John Brown and Larry FItzgerald, and stepped up again tonight like he has been doing all camp long, with two big catches for 40 yards total.
Matt Barkley
Barkley missed a few key throws downfield but improved a ton on his completion percentage, finishing 10/15 for 85 yards. And while Barkley's play wasn't perfect, he avoided a costly interception unlike Palmer and Stanton and was able to drive the team down for their lone points of the day in a Catanzaro field goal.
Josh Mauro
Mauro has locked himself into the Cardinals rotation and finished with two tackles and the lone sack of the day
Ifeanyi Momah
Momah had a few nice runs after the catch and had two catches for thirty yards, including a 15-yard gain.
Matthias Farley
Farley continued his good play and finished with five tackles and was solid in coverage all night.
So, who should the player of the game be?
