The Arizona Cardinals had another training camp practice on Monday, here are some notes from Bruce Arians press conference and what went down at practice.
Nkemdiche will be back at individual drills today. Larry Fitzgerald will sit (knee) but Arians said "that's more me than him." #CardsCamp

Love Arians talking about the fact he is telling Fitz to relax a little. We’ve seen quite a bit at this camp that the Arizona Cardinals know what they have in certain players, we’ve seen numerous veterans days off. Arians is not worried about Fitz, outside of actually being injured.
BA: Robert Nkemdiche will participate individual drills today.

As the kids would say... It’s lit!
WR Smokey Brown will wear a yellow no-contact jersey in practice today, Arians said. Returning from concussion.

I talked with a couple of writers yesterday and the conversation was about how weird this entire John Brown thing is. Right after it happened it was "He’s real close" then it went to he didn’t even travel to San Diego, then they get back and he’s fine. Concussions are different for everyone, so let’s hope this is just Brown and the Cardinals being overly cautious and not a real issue. (Not for the Cardinals either, for Brown personally)
Arians, "We'd probably switch D.J. (Humphries) to the left side if we had to" re: if Veldheer got hurt at tackle spot #CardsCamp

Again, conversations you hear go a long way in developing a makeshift 53 man roster. This is one I have heard before, but I still wanted Wetzel on the roster.
#azcardinals disappointed OLB Shaq Roddick hasn’t shown more by this point.

This is so weird, yesterday when asked about the depth behind Okafor he talked about how Kareem Martin has a heck of camp and Shaq and Tristan were getting better. Now? Reminds me of the Barkley praise then ripping.

Adele Voice: Helloooo...
Early 11-on-11 work sees Mathieu, Rucker w/first-team defense just as they were yesterday; John Brown in w/first-team offense #CardsCamp

Rucker and Mathieu bounce right back in, as does John Brown, but Justin Bethel has quite a bit to prove.
Tyrann Mathieu with an interception of Carson Palmer in 7-on-7 work. Ball deflected by Brandon Williams.

It’s getting close, guys and gals.
Tyrann is moving around really well. I don't think he's going to be nearly as hampered by the knee as he was coming back in 2014.

Something I talked about yesterday. Mathieu looked extremely quick, made decisive cuts and was flying around when he put himself into drills and workouts. This is a different recovery than the first time. Much like Palmer, it almost seems like it made him stronger.
Brandon Williams picked off Palmer in red zone 11-on-11 and the defense went #CardsCamp

Similar to yesterday, the defense just seems to be in a better place than the offense right now. Offense seems off, for some reason.
Palmer responds w/three straight touchdowns (twice to Floyd, once to Jaron Brown) during red zone work #CardsCamp

Switch, flipped.
That’s it for today.
