With the Arizona Cardinals getting the main stage for their third preseason game against the Houston Texans, there is not much for Cardinals fans to watch tonight. Or is there?
Despite the Cardinals not playing tonight, there are five great preseason match ups to watch and get some entertainment from. Especially if you are in Arizona as we are creeping our way to the fantastic time of the year weather wise.
First Shot: Detroit Lions at Baltimore Ravens 7pm EST
Ameer Abdullah was the apple of the Arizona Cardinals front offices eye in 2015, but they may have been saved from themselves when the Lions took him. Although he's been good, he may not be the special player David Johnson could be.
Second Shot: Philadelphia Eagles at Indianapolis Colts 7pm EST
Arizona Cardinals fans were in love with Ryan Kelly, so how does he look with the Colts?
Third Shot: New York Giants at New York Jets 730pm EST
How are things going with Todd Bowles? That's all I care about, I want to see Coach Bowles have some success, he's a great guy.
Fourth Shot: Tennessee Titans at Oakland Raiders 8pm EST
Derrick Henry took a lot of heat during the draft process, but he's looked really good through two preseason games. I'd love to see him continue to prove doubters wrong.
Fifth Shot: Los Angeles Rams at Denver Broncos 9pm EST
Jared Goff and Paxton Lynch. Need I say more?
Sixth Shot: Running through conditioning camp with my oldest son and his tackle football team has been a lot of fun. We have one more week, then things get real. It's interesting how different things are for youth football in just 20 years since I was his age and playing. “Optional” conditioning camp before the season starts so you are not wasting time with that and can go straight into offense and defense systems and fundamentals. Youth sports is a different animal than even when I played.
Chaser: Thanks to the Arizona Rattlers for the great season and especially Head Coach Kevin Guy. He's been an amazing resource for my younger kids in flag football and them getting an opportunity to learn from a professional is huge. I try and explain to all the kids what the opportunity they are receiving really means.
Enjoy the games.
