Arizona Cardinals Place Mike Jenkins on IR

The Arizona Cardinals have placed veteran cornerback Mike Jenkins on IR for the season

A tough career gets even tougher for veteran corner Mike Jenkins as he was placed on IR by the Arizona Cardinals.

Jenkins was brought in to be a veteran presence in the secondary for the young Arizona Cardinals, but after a couple of weeks dealing with a broken hand, he was even being talked about as a potential starter.

Jenkins was running with the Arizona Cardinals first team defense on Sunday when he went to tackle DeAndre Hopkins and his knee buckled and he immediately went to the ground.

An MRI revealed what most expected, Jenkins tore his ACL.

This is a tough blow for the Arizona Cardinals as they continue to search for an answer at cornerback opposite Patrick Peterson, but also are looking for a veteran.

Alan Ball has been out most of camp and no one has really separated themselves from the young players.

We wish Jenkins as speedy recovery, but his injury means one less cut the Arizona Cardinals will need to make this week.
