Jared Veldheer was "too small" in 2015

The mammoth left tackle was said to be too small by the Arizona Cardinals head coach.

Apparently all was not okay with the Arizona Cardinals by the end of the 2015 season.

Bruce Arians had some interesting comments to the media about franchise left tackle Jared Veldheer and his... physique by the end of 2015.

"When he first got here he was a mountain," head coach Bruce Arians said. "Last year he was a pole."

While we all know Bruce Arians is not afraid of hyperbole, the idea that Veldheer may have lost some weight and in turn been slightly weaker at the point of attack may be valid.

There were several instances in 2015 where Veldheer would surrender pressure or a sack against a power move, something we did not see Veldheer have any problems with in 2014.

He also was not as physical in the running game, but his overall play was not bad.

He finished in the top 12 in Pro Football Focus' left tackle grades and with what Arizona Cardinals fans are used to at the position, that was basically like having the best left tackle in the NFL.

Veldheer added some weight in the off season and looks primed to continue to lock down the left side of the offensive line.

The Cardinals hope he returns to form because of it.
