The Arizona Cardinals have a game on Friday and the question now is, how many wide receivers will be active for that game?
As camp continues to roll on here are some highlights from the press conference before camp as well as what happened during camp today.
Two WRs have left practice early: Jaxon Shipley, with apparent foot/heel issue, and Brittan Golden, which looked like hamstring. #CardsCamp— Darren Urban (@Cardschatter) August 9, 2016
Two more wide receivers left camp hobbled, but J.J. Nelson was back at practice today. They need these guys to get healthy for Friday since they bottom of the roster receivers will be getting the most reps.
DLs Xavier Williams (who Arians has praised) and Ed Stinson lined up with first-team D today. #CardsCamp— Adam Green (@theAdamGreen) August 9, 2016
Xavier Williams was one of my favorite players the Arizona Cardinals signed as an undrafted free agent last year. Seeing this is exciting.
Just as Bruce Arians said would be the case, WR J.J. Nelson is back on the #CardsCamp practice field today.— Adam Green (@theAdamGreen) August 9, 2016
As noted earlier, J.J. Nelson returned to practice today.
Corey Peters still isn't sure when he'll be back (plantar fasciitis), but he's getting closer. Says he's started running again. #CardsCamp— Adam Green (@theAdamGreen) August 9, 2016
A key player in the defense, his health would be a big boost.
.@AZCardinals TE Troy Niklas, happy to hear Arians said he's playing well: "He gets my name confused with dumb mother(expletive) a lot."— Darren Urban (@Cardschatter) August 9, 2016
My concerns about Troy Niklas being quelled. I am happy to see this, one of the most talented players on the team, now he just needs to put it together on game days.
“Up and down. He’s like a yo-yo.”
Do you feel like the competition for the third quarterback is close right now?
“Uh, they both have to step it up to be one.”
Anything else that caught your eye?
