NFL Picks Against the Spread and Early Game Open Thread for Week One 2016

Talk about the first week of NFL action on Revenge of the Birds

NFL: Preseason-Denver Broncos at Arizona Cardinals Matt Kartozian-USA TODAY Sports

NFL fans, we have made it.

It is officially the first Sunday of NFL football and that means you need a place to talk about the game.

You can follow along with all the team pages for the games, but there is a lot of talk that can go on here as well.

I won’t make a late afternoon thread, because it won’t matter for a lot of us, we will be getting prepped for the Arizona Cardinals kick off, but you can definitely talk about the games here as well.

All Odds From SB Nation Odds page.

I am (0-1) on the season.

Buffalo Bills (+3) at Baltimore Ravens

I like Baltimore, but I think this is the Rex Ryan team that gets things done early in the season, with their backs against the wall. Before reality sets in.

Chicago Bears at Houston Texans (-4.5)

Texans are a team I really like what they are building. What Brock Osweiler becomes is going to be key to the season, but today, give me the Texans.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+1) at Atlanta Falcons

I don’t buy Atlanta yet, so give me the emerging Bucs.

Oakland Raiders (+1) at New Orleans Saints

I am all in on the Raiders. So be prepared for bad things I am assuming.

Green Bay Packers (-4.5) at Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars are building something nice, but I expect the Packers to come out firing.

Minnesota Vikings at Tennessee Titans (+2.5)

Normally I would be all in on Minnesota, but I just think the rushing attack of Tennessee has a chance to be something to talk about. Even against a very good Minnesota defense.

Cincinnati Bengals at New York Jets (-1.5)

Todd Bowles defense is going to be ready, the Bengals are dangerous though. Too close to call, so give me the home team.

Cleveland Browns at Philadelphia Eagles (-3)

This is one game I am really interested in. I’d take Cleveland in Cleveland.

San Diego Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs (-7.5)

This line is not too high, although I want to see what Ken Whisenhunt does to the Chargers offense again.

Miami Dolphins at Seattle Seahawks (-10.5)

This is a huge line, but I have to see something from Miami before buying the Adam Gase era.

New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys (+1)

Ezekiel Elliot will make something special happen in Dallas, maybe not this year, but I think they will be fine without Romo.

Detroit Lions at Indianapolis Colts (-3)

Shoulder concerns for Luck and the fact that their defense doesn’t look overly powerful will not keep me from buying this win.

New England Patriots (+7) at Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals are winning this game, 24 to 20, but it will be a 24 to 13 game and New England will add one late to make the gamblers mad.

Pittsburgh Steelers at Washington (+2.5)

It is not that I do not like the Steelers in this game, it is just that they are not as good right now, with suspensions, as they will be later in the year.

Los Angeles Rams (-1) at San Francisco 49ers

I have no idea... Don’t bet on this game.
