Evan Mathis Out Sunday, Earl Watford to get Start for Arizona Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals will be missing their veteran guard for Sunday.

The Arizona Cardinals will be without starting right guard Evan Mathis for their Sunday match up with the Buffalo Bills.

Mathis has been dealing with persistent ankle issues after having off season surgery, which included missing time in training camp and the preseason.

His absence means the Arizona Cardinals will start fourth year veteran Earl Watford at right guard and likely, we will see Cole Toner active for the first time in his Cardinals career.

Mathis has started both games at right guard for the Cardinals, but left each game with issues. He was able to miss practice last week before the Bucs game, but obviously the Cardinals or Mathis felt different this week.

Mathis is likely going to miss playing time and even whole games throughout the season, but the Cardinals main need for him is to be healthy late in the years and for a Super Bowl run, much like what happened with Denver last season.
