It starts up front in the NFL and as much as we, Arizona Cardinals fans, want to put Chandler Jones in this draft class, that is just not how it works.
So, when you look at the Arizona Cardinals 2016 NFL Draft class you look at the fact that they have been really bad so far.
Robert Nkemdiche, through three games, has played 15 defensive snaps, and six special teams snaps. He has one tackle on the season.
Brandon Williams went from playing 100% of the snaps in game one against the New England Patriots, 71 snaps, to 34% of the snaps against the Bucs, only 27 snaps, to playing as many defensive snaps as you and me against the Buffalo Bills, zero.
We saw why, but that’s a sharp turn and a little disheartening, that Williams is going the wrong way.
Evan Boehm is playing minimal snaps, three snaps on offense, 11 snaps on special teams.
Marquis Christian... cut.
Cole Toner... Active in one game... in which he did not play either.
Harlan Miller... cut.
They have 116 non special teams game snaps through three games.
To say that there was a lot expected of this group is probably unfair, but to say that as of right now the Arizona Cardinals could use some help would be accurate.
The defensive line is supposed to be the anchor and yet the defense has allowed 399 yards rushing on only 84 carries, good for 4.75 yards per carry.
They play Todd Gurley on Sunday, they have to figure out how to stop the run. Robert Nkemdiche could help... maybe?
The rest of the draft though has little of a chance to make an impact barring injuries this year, but the Arizona Cardinals through three games need a spark. Can one of their draft picks provide that?
Through three games of the 2016 NFL season, they haven’t really gotten anything from them.
