Five Arizona Cardinals Who Could get Claimed on Waivers

A little look at some of the Arizona Cardinals who did not make the Cardinals roster, but could find themselves playing Sunday’s.

The Arizona Cardinals trimmed their roster to their initial 53 players, this is going to change, frequently and throughout the season.

Meanwhile, the cuts they made may lead to other NFL teams gaining some talent from the Arizona Cardinals purge.

Here are five players who may find themselves on an NFL roster tomorrow.

Matt Barkley

Barkley’s game could translate with certain teams in the NFL and he is free right now in a league desperate for quarterbacks. His work in the preseason may have even been worthy of a roster spot on the Cardinals if not for some needs at other positions.

Jaxon Shipley

The Arizona Cardinals could have made three or four moves to get to their 53 on offense, but that wasn’t the case with Shipley or the next one.

Shipley could be the type of player that comes in and earns snaps in the slot early and he has some upside as a returner.

Brittan Golden

He’s been a productive player in the NFL and he is a contributor on special teams, but he is in a numbers game on perhaps the best receiving unit in the NFL.

Golden is a burner who can win deep, he can take the top off the defense when given the opportunity.

Red Bryant

Bryant was a key contributor on a playoff team last year, when he is engaged, he is one of the most dominant players on the defensive line in the NFL. He is a role player right now and could be a really strong player in a rotation.

Shaq Riddick

Maybe one of the more athletic players on the edge in the NFL, but he has no idea what he is doing right now. With a Cardinals team with injury concerns at the outside linebacker position right now, they needed help immediately, which is likely going to happen today on the waivers.

Who do you think could get picked up?
