The Arizona Cardinals had a bad season, based on their own standards and made one coaching move that changed the coaching staff in two offensive positions.
The Arizona Cardinals have added Byron Leftwich as their new quarterbacks coach, while moving current quarterbacks coach Freddie Kitchens is moving to running backs coach.
It is an interesting move for Kitchens, as he has been very successful helping Carson Palmer as the quarterbacks coach. While working with the quarterbacks, Kitchens helped Pro Bowl QB Carson Palmer establish single-season team records for passing yards (4,671), touchdown passes (35) and passer rating (104.6) in 2015.
Kitchens has been with the Cardinals since 2007, spending the past four seasons as the team’s quarterbacks coach after working for six seasons as the Cardinals tight ends coach.
For the Cardinals, it is a move that has some change, but with Palmer being a veteran, Byron Leftwich shouldn’t have too much effect and Kitchens having been on the staff, there should not be too much change over... We hope.
It will be interesting to see what Leftwich does with the youth at the quarterback position.
What do you think of the move?
