For the Arizona Cardinals, Harold Goodwin is being groomed, but for what, we don’t know.
Is it the Arizona Cardinals head coaching job?
Is he being groomed to expand the hopefully expanding Bruce Arians coaching tree?
We will see, but for now, we know, Goodwin is getting some looks around the NFL at some head coaching vacancies.
Last season, he was interviewed for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers position, which he had no shot, but it was a great opportunity to understand the interview process and what it involves.
Of the NFL head coaching jobs open, Goodwin has lined up interviews with the Rams and Jaguars, and already with the Buffalo Bills.
The interesting thing with these teams, all of them have questions at quarterback.
That makes sense for Goodwin, who has worked with Andrew Luck and was part of the career renaissance of Carson Palmer.
He obviously understands strengths of players and how to make the most of them, so we will see how that plays into what the teams want from him.
In Buffalo, they could be interested in what Goodwin could do with someone drafted this year.
In Jacksonville and Los Angeles, he clearly could have a hand in what is done with their young quarterbacks, Blake Bortles and Jared Goff respectively.
The question becomes would Goodwin want to tie his first head coaching gig to one of those young quarterbacks?
Good luck to Coach Goodwin in all of his travels.
