Arizona Cardinals fear Markus Golden injury is serious per report

While they wait on the MRI, the Cardinals are worried about their young edge rusher.

It was an ugly win, and even worse, there may have been another big blow on the injury front.

In the overtime, as the 49ers were driving down the field, Markus Golden was undercut on a blitz by teammate Budda Baker.

You could tell immediately it wasn’t good, as Golden reached for the knee instantaneously.

Now, like David Johnson’s injury in week one, we wait.

Golden had started slow in 2017, especially compared to his hugely productive 2016 season, where Golden finished with 12.5 sacks (leading the team) and 51 tackles.

Through the four games, Golden had eight tackles, but the last two games he began to get closer and closer to getting those sacks again.

The Arizona Cardinals depth chart at outside linebacker is... Interesting:

Kareem Martin will step into the starting role immediately if Golden is out for any significant amount of time, but who plays the backup spot and can Martin, who has rarely seen action on defense in 2017, be counted on?

With Deone Bucannon back, you have to assume Deone Bucannon back, Haason Reddick will get some work at the outside linebacker spot.

Let’s just hope it is nothing significant for Golden and if it is, a speedy and full recovery.
