The Arizona Cardinals have traded a conditional pick for Adrian Peterson.
This was not a move on many peoples radar:
I'll admit, I didn't see this coming. https://t.co/XZExs7qTgV

Peterson has struggled the last two seasons, one with the Minnesota Vikings and then through four games with the New Orleans Saints.
In 2016 Peterson averaged 1.9 yards per carry while only averaging 3 yards per carry in limited touches with the Saints this season.
It is a move that makes sense for both sides though.
The Cardinals desperately need someone to jump start their moribund rushing attack, while Peterson needs carries to show whether or not he can still play.
The Cardinals will be able to provide that for Peterson, as he will get a shot at taking the lead back role in Arizona, something he had no shot of in New Orleans.
Whether it works with the Cardinals struggling offensive line remains to be seen, but it is a cheap way to take a look at a player to see if there is anything left.
