Arizona Cardinals get quarterback of the future in wild trade idea from ESPN

The Arizona Cardinals give up virtually nothing for a young quarterback in ESPN’s trade idea.

The Arizona Cardinals are in a weird spot in their history.

They have had their best stretch over they last four regular seasons, but the discontent within the fanbase is rising.

One of the siren songs of that discontent is the lack of direction with the quarterback position.

38 year old Carson Palmer is on injured reserve after another injury sustained against the Rams, and the Cardinals are turning to Drew Stanton.

Stanton inspires little if any confidence within the fanbase.

Enter Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Schefter wrote about some wild trades he would like to see come from the NFL and the Cardinals were involved in one of them:

Teddy Bridgewater to the Cardinals for a conditional midround pick:

With Carson Palmer most likely done for 2017 and entering his age-38 season, the Cardinals get a good look at Bridgewater and decide if they want to take a shot at him beyond this season. Case Keenum has been solid enough in a backup role for the Vikings that it's not an easy call to turn the ball over to Teddy -- who is currently not on the Vikings' books for 2018 -- amid a playoff run.

This trade makes sense for the Cardinals in the idea that they get a young quarterback they can pick up fifth year option on and see if he is healthy after a gruesome knee injury.

For Vikings fans...

There is no way on earth the Vikings would deal Bridgewater right now.

No Sam Bradford, Case Keenum is the only quarterback they can trust and you deal an almost healthy Bridgewater? No... way.

Despite the ridiculousness of the scenario, the question is, would you do it?
