Arizona Cardinals get quarterback of the future in newest SB Nation mock draft

The Arizona Cardinals get their young quarterback in this 2018 NFL Mock Draft.

There's going to be a theme for the Arizona Cardinals throughout the next 23.5 weeks.

It will involve the 2018 NFL and one quarterback in particular.

Today, Dan Kadar of SB Nation's Mocking the Draft started his journey into the 2018 Mock NFL Draft.

If you're a Cardinals fan the only response can be… of course.

13. Arizona Cardinals: Josh Allen, QB, Wyoming

Allen’s up-and-down play can’t be ignored, but I still think the NFL decision makers will like him more than fans. He certainly fits the mold of a Bruce Arians quarterback with a big arm and good size. I don’t consider Allen a first-round player, but the overdrafting of the position can’t be questioned.

Allen was the crown jewel of the supposed historic 2018 quarterback class.

Now, there are questions of whether trying to be a grad-transfer to another program, the junior signal caller is set to graduate in December, is the better option.

However, if the intel is correct, and Allen is still a commodity to a team or two, then the draft is the right route.

For the Cardinals, this would have been the ideal pick in 2016. A healthy Carson Palmer made it through the season, meaning Allen never would have been tested.

He likely, hopefully, would have ascended to the backup role and been starting the last couple of games.

However, that's not how the NFL or life works.

Now, Allen would walk into a situation where legitimate questions lie about the quarterback room as well as a depleted wide receiver corps and questions along the offensive line.

Is Allen the right fit for the Arizona Cardinals?

That's the question I will have whenever I see his name next to the Cardinals in mock drafts through April.
