Calais Campbell is thriving and happy in Jacksonville with the chance to finally flourish

The former Arizona Cardinals defensive end is in route to be the Defensive Player of the Year in the NFL.

Thanksgiving has come and gone and this story… Well, it stayed on the back burner while we all celebrated what we were thankful for.

Whether it be what I'm thankful for when it comes to the Arizona Cardinals, or just a general thankfulness for whatever in your life, yesterday was about enjoying the day.

No Arizona Cardinals news needed to alter that.

That is why I saved Calais Campbell's take until today.

Of course we all know Calais Campbell is happy, he's playing on a historically good defense right now, he's already surpassed his career high in sacks and is the leader in the clubhouse for Defensive Player of the Year.

This all despite being chastised for taking the money to go lounge in Florida as he gets ready to retire.

Well, Campbell wanted to let everyone know what he was thankful for as well:

Now, this may not be a direct shot at defensive coordinator James Bettcher… or maybe it is.

However, this is the biggest name that can come out against whatever it is Bettcher is doing in the desert… while also backing it up with play on the field.

Campbell was very, very good if not slightly underrated in Arizona. Much of that was because his job was to allow others to make plays.

Now, he's one of the playmakers, maybe the biggest and best, on a special Jaguars defense.

It isn't so much salt, as it is just a nod that… Hey, you guys had this the whole time and never unleashed it.

Who knows what Campbell could have done in Arizona.
