It was one of the most ugly performances of the Bruce Arians era.
Yet, in the end, no one will remember anything other than the fact that the Arizona Cardinals battled, fought and clawed and beat the AFC South leading Tennessee Titans 12-7.
It was, in this writer’s opinion, the best defensive performance from the Arizona Cardinals in the 2017 season.
It was a throwback, old-school beat down of a game where the Cardinals did everything in their power against the Titans to lose this game, but the defense did not get the memo.
Behind Chandler Jones, Budda Baker, two interceptions, one by Tramon Williams as the Titans were about to go into score and then an absolute head scratcher of a throw from Mariota that Josh Bynes intercepted.
The only offense for the Arizona Cardinals today was really that of Phil Dawson field goals, even though Dawson missed another field goal today.
Blaine Gabbert had fine numbers, 17/26 for 178 yards and no touchdowns and no interceptions, but missed a couple of critical throws that could have been touchdowns.
Instead, it was a nice performance by Kerywnn Williams again, 20 carries for 73 yards and not turning the ball over that carried the day on offense.
The defense was outstanding.
James Bettcher came up with a fantastic scheme and the defense executed his vision the best they have all season.
The best thing on offense?
Larry Fitzgerald moved into third on the all-time receiving yards list in the NFL. Congratulations, Fitz.
