As the season winds down, I wanted to continue to take the temperature of the fans and the coach.
Coming off a win over the Tennessee Titans, how does the perception change since last week after the second loss of the season to the Los Angeles Rams?
I personally do not agree with the notion that a coaching change needs to take place, but I also am interested in what the fans say.
Again, so not to upset anyone, this is not a call for Bruce Arians to be fired, this is a poll on what the fanbase feels about Arians as the head coach at this time.
Why am I not on board with a coaching change? Well, first the prospects of who takes over are not completely appealing at this time.
The retreads
Josh McDaniels (New England Patriots OC)
Mike Smith (Tampa Bay Buccaneers DC)
Todd Haley (Pittsburgh Steelers OC)
Assistant coaches/first timers
Matt Nagy (Kansas City Chiefs OC)
Dave Toub (Chiefs special teams)
Matt Patricia (New England Patriots DC)
John DeFillipo (Philadelphia Eagles QBs)
Teryl Austin (Detroit Lions DC)
Mike Vrabel (Houston Texans DC)
Dan Campbell (New Orleans Saints TEs)
Are you interested in any of these names?
Would a name like John Harbaugh coming back from the college ranks interest you? I think if you are going to advocate making a move from Arians, you have to know where you want to go. I assume if/when Keim and company move on from this coaching regime, they will.
The next question is, do you take a chance that the stability that Arians has provided over the last five seasons should be switched? Look at the Saints. From 2012-2016 they were 7-9 in four of those five seasons. They are on pace to be a playoff team again in 2017. Do they get that with a change at coach?
Anyway, last week, the results were 51/49 in favor of bringing Arians back.
Wonder how this will look after this week.
