It was not the season the Arizona Cardinals anticipated in 2017, but for four individuals, they had seasons that were recognized by their peers, the fans and coaches around the league.
For the Arizona Cardinals, they had four selections to the 2018 NFL Pro Bowl.
Larry Fitzgerald is selected for the 11th time in his career, creeping ever closer to Jerry Rice’s record of 13 career Pro Bowl selections.
With the injury to Antonio Brown, Fitz has an outside chance to finish at the top of the NFL in receptions for the second consecutive year. No matter what, Fitz’s 2017 is one to remember, as he has been a consistent performer despite catching most of his passes from Drew Stanton and Blaine Gabbert in 2017.
Patrick Peterson is in the Pro Bowl for the seventh time in his career, he joins Jim Brown, Emmitt Smith and Barry Sanders as the only other players to attain that in their careers and is the first in NFL history on the defensive side of the ball.
Chandler Jones is the NFL leader in sacks and tackles for loss, and for that has earned his second Pro Bowl nod in his career.
Jones has set a career high in sacks, tackles for loss and tackles in 2017 and should be the front runner for Defensive Player of the Year, if not for the shoddy work around him.
Finally, rookie Budda Baker was chosen as the special teams player for the NFC. He has been extremely dynamic on special teams and on defense after getting little burn to start the season.
Congratulations to the four Arizona Cardinals on their fantastic season.
