Arizona Cardinals stay stagnant in NFC playoff race

The Cardinals loss to the Rams made it more unlikely they make the playoffs in 2017.

With four games to go, the Arizona Cardinals need a miracle.

Sitting at 5-7, with five teams ahead of them in the NFC Wild Card race, it is looking like the 2017 season is lost.

The NFC Playoff Rankings after this weekend with no NFC games left:

  1. Minnesota Vikings (10-2)
  2. Philadelphia Eagles (10-2)
  3. Los Angeles Rams (9-3)
  4. New Orleans Saints (9-3)
  5. Seattle Seahawks (8-4)
  6. Carolina Panthers (8-4)
  7. Atlanta Falcons (7-5)
  8. Detroit Lions (6-6)
  9. Green Bay Packers (6-6)
  10. Dallas Cowboys (6-6)
  11. Washington Redskins (5-7)
  12. Arizona Cardinals (5-7)
  13. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-8)

That isn’t news to too many around here.

We’ve been ping ponging between playoff positioning and draft positioning for the last month, but the reality is beginning to set in for the third time in the Steve Keim and Bruce Arians era, the Arizona Cardinals are not going to make the playoffs.

They also are now in danger of not finishing above .500 for the second consecutive season after a blistering start to their tenure.
