It is the genesis of a new team, at least defensively, for the Arizona Cardinals. They will have at least five new starters on their defense in 2017, and they still need to find more depth at a number of positions.
That being said, nothing has really changed in terms of team needs, the 2017 NFL Draft and the fact that the Cardinals are built to win now, with questions as to what they are as a team moving forward.
However, Steve Keim will have a bundle of money to play with in 2018, if things work out, so we shall see how different the team looks as soon as next off season.
As for today, we will see what happens with the Cardinals and free agency.
They have some cash, but not enough to be real players.
This is what happens when you are a veteran laden team who pushed big money down the line, you have holes, but those holes are too costly to fill.
What Andy has a nice look at some free agent defensive backs who could fit in Arizona in 2017 and shouldn’t break the bank.
Couple of outside linebacker notes, as the Cardinals have lost Alex Okafor and have started looking for his replacement:
I'm told OLB Alex Okafor has agreed to terms with the #Saints.

No one has mentioned Kevin Minter. Wave two of free agency, so now Minter will get some looks, starting in Indy:
Free agent linebacker Kevin Minter is taking a visit to Indy. Will meet with the Colts

Who are you hoping is on the Cardinals radar in the second wave of free agent signings?
