When it comes to wide receivers, we know Bruce Arians has a type.
He likes smaller, quicker, receivers who can line up in a variety of roles, but also can work their magic with speed down the field.
With that in mind, it should come as no surprise that the Arizona Cardinals met with Carlos Henderson of Louisiana Tech before his pro day per Tony Pauline:
Henderson is catching fire on draft boards. He met with the San Francisco 49ers, Arizona Cardinals and New Orleans Saints last night.
Henderson ran a very solid 4.46 forty at the NFL Combine and has not only shown the ability to be a big play receiver in the deep passing game, but also in the short area.
Henderson scored 23 touchdowns in 2016, 19 receiving, showing that he truly is a big play waiting to happen.
However, I suspect one of the biggest reasons the Arizona Cardinals could be interested is Henderson’s ability in the return game.
Of those 23 touchdowns, two came on kick returns, the other two were rushing.
Henderson’s ability with the ball in his hands and his natural run after the catch is a big plus, despite playing in a spread offense and only having one big year.
